Although William Cannell Boatbuilding is no longer taking orders for Classic Yacht Restoration and new Classic Yacht Construction in our American Boat House shop, we are available to employ our thirty-five years of wooden yacht building and curatorially correct restoration work to assist you in selecting the proper classic yacht for your enjoyment, to help you choose a yard in order to complete a project with the best quality workmanship at a reasonable cost according to the appropriate curatorially correct classic details. Our experience comes from years in the shop building, restoring, and managing projects.
Bill Cannell has the unique advantage of not only both building and restoring wooden yachts for thirty-five years, but also of being a classic yacht brokerage specialist for thirty years. The experience gained in the brokerage side of the business through reviewing countless surveys of our clients' yachts and learning what has worked over the years, and what has not, in terms of construction, repair and maintenance has provided a symbiosis valuable in both yacht construction and restoration and in giving sensible advice to clients. Not only is Bill Cannell available to consult with you, but also we are able to offer the services of former William Cannell Boatbuilding foremen, and also European based colleagues expert in classic yacht construction and project management. William Cannell Boatbuilding's former office manager is available to deploy her administrative experience to review the details of your project's billing and other administrative details as well as to use her vast experience in ordering esoteric classic yacht hardware and other equipment to assist you and your yard in finding the correct materials.

The American Boathouse is on the National Registry of Historic Places as the oldest Boathouse built for a large power yachts in North America. It was built to house the 140' Lawley steam yacht MONA LOA. William Cannell Boatbuilding Co., Inc. restored the American Boathouse in 1980 and has been restoring and building classic yachts in it since that time.
